CYSTERHOOD OF STRENGTH- A PCOS Support Group
As a therapist, I spend my days helping others navigate their emotions, challenges, and uncertainties. But beyond my professional role, I carry a personal struggle, one that many women silently endure. I have PCOS and PMDD.
PCOS is more than a diagnosis; it is an unpredictable journey of physical discomfort, hormonal imbalances, and emotional ups and downs. It’s the frustration of unexplained fatigue, the unpredictability of cycles, and the quiet emotional weight that comes with it. Some days, it feels manageable. Other days, it feels like an uphill battle.
What has hurt me the most, though, is the invalidation—the dismissive “just lose weight,” the “everyone has cramps” comments and the well-meaning advice that reduces a complex condition to a matter of willpower.
Each time my struggles were minimized, it made me doubt myself, question my pain, and feel even more isolated.
Through my own experience, I realized how little space exists for open, judgment-free conversations about PCOS and menstrual health.
And that’s why Abigail Shannon Kellogg a fellow Cyster and I have decided to start “CYSTERHOOD OF STRENGTH- A PCOS Support Group”.
If you are dealing with PCOS, irregular cycles, or the emotional impact of hormonal health challenges, you don’t have to go through it alone. Let’s create a space where we uplift each other.
If you have not experienced PCOS or menstrual health challenges, you can still support us by sharing this post—a like, share, or comment can help it reach someone who truly needs this space and may be silently struggling.
