Hope

“Ma’am, yesterday morning, I felt like ending it all. I couldn’t sleep, and the thought of just letting go seemed so comforting.”
“And then what happened?”
“I remembered what you told me—to look around for a sign of hope.”
“Did you find one?”
“I went up to the roof. Have you ever seen mustard fields in bloom, ma’am? Just like that scene from Tujhe Dekha To Yeh Jaana Sanam?”
“No, I haven’t, but I’ve always wanted to.”
“I saw the sunrise and the mustard blooms. I’ve lived here for so long, seen them countless times, but today, I remembered your words. I noticed two trees—they were beautiful too. And then I thought of you, how your favorite color is yellow. You once told me to call you if I ever felt overwhelmed by negative thoughts. So, I said to myself, ‘Let’s live for one more day.’ Promise me you’ll visit this place and see the blooms. It’s so yellow, you would love it!”
